Maryland's Medicaid Telehealth Program - Providers must register with the Maryland medicaid program and they are then able to use telemedicine services and bill Maryland Medicaid accordingly.  Also see Maryland's Medicaid Telehealth program FAQ page, here

Maryland Mental Hygiene Administration (MHA) received approval from CMS for reimbursement of Telemental Health services effective July 1, 2011.

The originating site (where the consumer presents) must be located in one of the following 15 counties:

Garrett, Allegany, Calvert, Charles, St Mary's, Worcester, Wicomico, Washington, Somerset, Cecil, Kent, Queen Anne, Dorchester, Talbot, Caroline.

The originating site must also be one of the following:

1. Outpatient Mental Health Clinic (OMHC)

2. Hospitals

3. Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC)

Psychiatrists must have a Medicaid provider number or be working in an OMHC or FQHC
